Yuletide 2021

I'm excited to be back yuletiding again this year. For me, this exchange is all about having fun, so read as much or as little of the information below as you want, and I hope you enjoy yourself.
In other words, please do treat all this optional detail as entirely optional, and write what you want :)
I’ll do a general bit on my likes and DNWs, and then go a little more in depth on the fandoms I requested.
General Likes
For yuletide I really like positive/happy endings.
I love world-building, other people's headcannons and universe details. My favourite AO3 tag is time-travel fix-it.
Linked to this, close canon AUs are a love of mine, I delight in stories that start from the ‘what if this one thing changed’ premise.
I also love the missing scene and slice of life moments, things that happened around the stories, after them or in the middle of them.
Competence and women being awesome is fantastic.
Crack treated seriously is also great.
For all prompts gen, het, slash or femslash is equally great.
Do not want
Please no infidelity (consensual poly/ negotiated relationships are fine), non-con, dub-con, death of major (requested) characters or particularly darkfic (darker than the cannon).
Because I love exploring cannon circumstances and worldbuilding so much, I'm not a fan of total AUs, and prefer to avoid modern day/Coffee shop/ high school AUs and similar very much non-cannon settings.
Tillerman Cycle
I love this series, a lot. I love the original ones, that focus on the Tillerman children, and the ones that branch off and explore others' stories.
Gram is one of my favourite characters. She is stubborn, proud, and often very wrong. But she tries so hard, and just keeps going.
I'd love a story from any time in her life, really. What was her youth like? Anything about her relationship with her children? What about a slice of life raising her grandkids? Or a post cannon look at how she interacts with them when they are grown. The setting plays a big part of the stories for me, so also anything about her running her house, garden etc would be delightful too.
Persuasion - Jane Austen
I nearly put all four characters in here, cos they are all great! So if you want to focus more on just Sophia and the admiral, or Anne and Frederick, feel free.
One prompt idea: Sophia and Anne interacting post cannon. What interests do they have in common? Is it a 'family together for an event' scenario, or are they living close to each other? Perhaps they write letters?
Second prompt idea: A cannon divergent AU. What if the initial engagement was not called off, or they met again sooner? In this, see Sophia as potentially something of a mentor and friend for a younger Anne. I'm always interested in this kind of AU. What was the change? Did Sophia get involved in the engagement for some reason?
Gen, het, slash and fem-slash all fine, but if you split the cannon couples in the requested characters, please be kind to all of them - I love them all!
My Life is Murder
I change my mind from week to week if I ship these too, so am fine with gen, het or femslash for them.
Case fic is great, or slice of life. I love how they interact with each other. I'm enjoying seeing local places, so extremely NewZild settings and circumstances are an excellent delight if you want to go with season 2.
Themselves or others realising they are in a relationship would be fun (could be cracky, or not).
I confess I'm not completely caught up with season 2 (still airing in NZ, and I'm a few weeks behind). But I will be caught up by Yule, so pre, during or post cannon is all fine.
Humans are space orcs
I really enjoy this meme! It makes me laugh every time I see a bit added to it.
I love world-building, so just exploring this idea, adding some details etc would be great.
Or write a little story about a time when some poor alien so a human and realised all over again how insane the species was. I like both the versions that have humans as pretty tough, and the ones that assume we're fragile but utterly fearless /take stupid risks by the standards of most space faring species.
I like space opera and found family, so a motley space ship crew would be a delight! Feel free to turn this one into a crossover if borrowing some space-faring characters suits your story.
